1. South African statutory guarantee
Nothing in this policy limits a right under the CPA. Where the CPA applies, goods must be reasonably suitable for their normal purpose, of good quality, in working order, free of defects and durable for a reasonable period. Section 56 may provide a six-month implied warranty and a choice of repair, replacement or refund for qualifying defective goods.
2. Additional manufacturer warranties
Many products include a manufacturer or distributor warranty with its own period, use limits and remedy. That additional warranty does not replace a non-excludable CPA right. Commercial or high-intensity use may have different manufacturer terms from normal office use; confirm specialised requirements before ordering.
3. What a warranty generally covers
- manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship;
- failure under normal, intended use during the applicable period; and
- parts and labour included by the statutory or manufacturer remedy.
A warranty period normally starts on delivery unless the written warranty states otherwise. Keep the order confirmation, invoice and product identification.
4. Conditions commonly outside additional warranty cover
Subject always to statutory rights, additional cover may exclude fair wear, misuse, overloading, impact, liquid or chemical damage, unauthorised repair, unsuitable cleaning, failure to maintain the product, incorrect self-assembly, commercial use beyond the rated specification, or damage after delivery caused by the customer or a third party.
5. How to make a warranty claim
- Email sales@officestock.co.za with the order or invoice number.
- Describe when the issue started, normal use and any troubleshooting already completed.
- Attach clear photographs or video of the whole product, defect and product label.
- Keep the product safely available for inspection or collection.
6. Assessment, repair, replacement or refund
We may arrange remote troubleshooting, a technician, supplier assessment or return. The process will not unreasonably delay a statutory remedy. A repaired product that fails again within the CPA’s stated period may qualify for the further remedy provided by law.
Do not discard a product or arrange unauthorised repair before a claim is assessed unless urgent action is reasonably necessary for safety.
